Math Course Catalog

Math 1

Students will be able to solve with speed and accuracy addition and subtraction problems to 18. They will demonstrate problem-solving strategies in relation to addition and subtraction, place value to the 10s place, time, money, and measurement.

Math 2

The students will receive instruction in and demonstrate the ability to perform basic mathematical functions and problem solving in the areas of addition and subtraction of whole numbers, money, time, geometry, numbers to 1000, measurement, fractions, multiplication and division concepts, graphing, place value, and patterns to 100.

Math 3

The students will receive instruction in and demonstrate the ability to perform basic mathematical function and problem solving in the following areas: graphs, place value, adding and subtracting whole numbers and money, multiplication, division, geometry, fractions, measurement, decimals, and probability.

This course will start with redefining the basics of arithmetic before pursuing those basic functions into more advanced uses. Math 4 provides the toolbox needed for every subsequent course, and is a learning essential!

Students will learn basic mathematical operations and problem-solving strategies in the areas of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, ration and proportion, and geometry.

Math 6 CC1

This 6th grade math couse follows California Common Core Standards. It covers basic pre algebra concepts, including expressions and equations, inequalities, ratios, basic geometric concepts, and data analysis.

This middle school-level pre-algebra class will cover the base foundation of algebra, including solving equations, systems of equations, graphs, functions, percents, and probabilities

Math 8

This fast paced, rigorous course is an equivalent to a high school level introduction to Algebra. The topics covered include, but are not limited to: Linear Relationships, Graphs and Functions, Systems of Equations, Quadratics, Laws of Exponents, and Factoring Binomial and Polynomial Expressions.

Topics include, but are not limited to, properties of real numbers, relations, linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, graphing equations and inequalities, systems of equations, radicals, factoring polynomials, rational equations, statistics, data analysis, and mathematical modeling.

This course will cover Algebra 2 topics, including but not limited to, linear equations and inequalities and graphing equations and inequalities, polynomials, radicals, functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, sequences and series, and trigonometry.

HS Geometry

This course is a comprehensive look at the study of geometric concepts including the basic elements of geometry, proofs, parallel and perpendicular lines, the coordinate plane, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, trigonometry, congruence and similarity, surface area, volume and transformations.
